Background and History
The Chamber is the second oldest interracial trade and business association in the country. The Chamber was established to promote the creation and expansion of small government contracting and increasing the level of employment, through the creation of new jobs and the retention of existing jobs.
As a full-service business organization, the Chamber works on all fronts to improve the climate of economic development throughout the entire minority business community by working with majority contractors as Compliance Consultants, ensuring WBE/MBE participation on construction projects in Illinois. The Chamber places a high priority on creating strategic alliances such as joint ventures to increase capacity for all partners.
The Chamber works in concert with a wide-range of other industry associations, government entities, public and private enterprises and elected officials to accomplish its mission.
Most of the small business consulting service are available free of charge however, there is a nominal fee for specific management and technical services which may be applied toward membership for the Cosmopolitan Chamber of business. The services for which there is a nominal fee include:
